VIAGE, le centre de divertissement unique à Bruxelles a ouvert ses portes en avril 2010, et depuis, a accueilli dans sa salle de théâtre des artistes internationaux très variés. En 2022, cette salle a été complètement transformée grâce à un nouveau partenariat avec MB Presents, spécialisé dans la production de spectacles et d’expositions. Le premier théâtre immersif digital en Belgique ouvre ses portes le 18 mars 2022 avec une expérience immersive consacrée à la vie et à l’œuvre de Frida Kahlo.
VIAGE est un complexe de divertissement unique et polyvalent, le premier de ce genre pour le propriétaire Casino Austria International (CAI). S’étendant sur une superficie d’environ 14 000 m², VIAGE offre une large panoplie d’activités de divertissements tels que des bars, un restaurant, la plus grande proposition de jeux en Belgique avec plus de 500 machines à sous, des tables de jeux avec croupiers, un rooftop de jeux au 7
La grande salle de théâtre, avec sa capacité de 1 000 personnes, a accueilli par le passé, des artistes nationaux et internationaux tels que Prince, Kool & The Gang, The Gibson Brothers, Paul Anka, Level 42, George Benson, … Mais la salle a été fermée en 2020 et 2021, en raison de la pandémie.
Une Expo Immersive Sur Frida Kahlo Arrive à Bruxelles
Cette même pandémie a également impacté la société MB Presents, connue pour ses productions à succès telles que Harry Potter – The Exhibition, Star Wars Identities, Cirque du Soleil, Hans Zimmer Live, Van Gogh The Immersive Experience et The Great Gatsby.
Cette dernière production s’est d’ailleurs déroulée pendant deux saisons dans la salle du théâtre du VIAGE. C’est ainsi que les deux spécialistes du divertissement se sont rencontrés.
Le théâtre a été entièrement rénové et adapté pour devenir le premier VIAGE Digital Art Theatre. Ce projet combine l’expertise de MB Presents dans le domaine des productions théâtrales immersives et le VIAGE en tant que temple du divertissement au cœur de Bruxelles.

La première exposition du VIAGE Digital Art Theatre emmènera le visiteur dans l’univers de l’artiste mexicaine Frida Kahlo. Sa vie et surtout son œuvre prennent ainsi vie dans une expérience unique à 360°.

Elle est présentée depuis septembre 2021, dans le nouveau MAAG Light Hall de Zurich, premier musée permanent de Suisse à ne présenter que des expositions immersives.

« Empreintes d’une symbolique accessible, de plantes et d’animaux exotiques colorés, ainsi que d’une série d’autoportraits percutants, les créations de l’artiste expressive et sa vie sont au cœur de cette exposition immersive, présentée à l’aide d’une vidéoprojection performante et d’effets lumineux et acoustiques. La projection à 360° donne aux visiteurs l’impression d’avoir été transportés directement dans les peintures de Kahlo » explique le lieu.
A Bruxelles (à partir du 18 mars 2022), l’expérience immersive consacrée Frida Kahlo est présentée dans un espace de plus de 900m2. Elle est accompagnée d’un système audio individuel gratuit (en 3 langues français, anglais et néerlandais) qui permet de s’immerger entièrement dans les œuvres et la vie passionnante de l’artiste.
À la fin de l’exposition, l’expérience VR plonge les visiteurs au cœur de l’art de Frida Kahlo. Ce voyage de plusieurs minutes avec un casque VR permet d’explorer au plus près les créations de Frida Kahlo pour en percer tous les secrets!

Downtown Salem isn't what it used to be, and many organizations are trying to battle the notion that there isn't anything to do in town. Including a nonprofit devoted to theater.
Something interestinghappened from 2010 to 2013, said Jay Gipson-King, a part-time theater instructor at Chemeketa Community College and Willamette University. The Mid-Valley became home to eight new theater companies overthree years.
What used to be one or two theater productions increased to five or six taking place on any given weekend, he said, and there needed to be a way for these organizations to communicate.

The Salem Theatre Networkisan alliance of 13 theater organizations in the Mid-Valley with acommon goal: supporting each other and exposing the Mid-Valley to more theater.
Those in the networkprovide different theater experiences, boost each other's productions and work to bring educational opportunities to the area, like the Cherry Blossom Theatre Festival, taking place March 8-10.
With more than 20companies in the Mid-Valley, the network is working together to prove that you don't need to leave the area for quality theater.

After creating the Salem Theatre Network Facebook page in 2012, those in the group met a couple of times, Gipson-King said. It wasn't until theater companies in the area reached a "critical mass" that they decided to incorporate.
Since their501(c)(3) status was approved in April of 2016, the network has met monthly for board meetings and figured out how they could intentionally work together as a collective rather than individuals.
"Arts have a limited audience and limited resources, " Gipson-King said. "Instead of squabbling over our pieces of pie let’s just make a bigger pie and then everybody gets more."

She said those at Pentacle, the oldest theater company in the region, believe more theater is better than less. David Ballantyne, a Pentacle volunteer and board member, came up with the slogan, "Community Not Competition."
Opportunity for cross-promotion, service sharing andcollaboration have come out of the network, like last summer when Keizer Homegrown Theatre and Aumsville Community Theatre worked together on "Shakespeare in the Park."

Stiner said another waythe network supports one another is by getting the word out about updates or changes to shows, like when they had to cancel three productionsof, "There Goes The Bride, "unexpectedly.
With one actor injured, three not well enough to perform and impending winter weather, canceling the productions, which were supposed to take place Feb. 8-10, was inevitable.
The cancellations wereannounced on Facebook, and the Aumsville Community Theatre asked others to spread the word. The Salem Theatre Network, which has more than 1, 600 followers, shared the post to relay the news to the community.

Working together in this way is the best thing to come out of the Salem Theatre Network, Vincenzo Meduri, founding artistic director of Enlightened Theatrics, said.
After graduating with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Musical Theatre from Elon University in 2011, Meduri, who was born and raised in Salem, lived in New York City for a year.
That's when he decided to move back in 2013 and start Enlightened Theatrics, atheater company in downtown Salem producingprofessional productions and providing theatrical education.

Meduri said they bring in regional talent, as well as occasionally bringing in people from places like New York and Los Angeles, to work with local talent through their main stage productions.
Theyalso paytheir musicians, actors and technicians, he said, and although they are not anEquity house, theyadhere to Actors Equity Association standards so they can provide aprofessional theater experience.
This differs from other companies like Pentacle Theatre, a volunteer-based community theater, or Theatre 33, a play development companyproducing original works from playwrights in Oregon and the Pacific Northwest.

Each theaterin the area — big or small, newer or older — contributes something to Salem's theater scene, which Gipson-King calls "stone soup."
"We all bring something, " he said. "We bring our carrots or our potato, and we make this stew that we share with everybody, and we get something more than we put in."
The festival, going into its third year, will feature nine workshops and the One-Act Festival, a national competition featuring three productions from companies in the area.

Each company has 10 minutes to set up, 60 minutes to perform and 10 minutes to tear down. Professional adjudicators then critique the productionsin front of the audience.
The One-Act Festival happens every other year and was at the first Cherry Blossom Theatre Festival. Joyce said this is unlike any other theater event because the audience can hear the built-in feedback.
